An update from the City of Miami Beach on tropical storm Fay…
Miami Beach weathered Tropical Story Fay well, with no reports of flooding and only minor debris. City crews began debris cleanup early this morning. The City will be open for regular business tomorrow, Wednesday, August 20.
Residential Trash Collection
Regular trash and garbage collection has resumed. Residents may place “green” storm-related debris (e.g. trees, palm fronds, etc.) on the curb for pick-up by Thursday, August 21. Residents are reminded to not place bulky waste (or other non-green debris, such as construction debris) on the curb unless they have a previously scheduled appointment.
Park Programs
Our after-school programs at parks and recreation facilities will begin tomorrow if school resumes. If school is cancelled tomorrow, the parks programs for registered K-12 children will be available again, as it was on Monday.
Beach
Lifeguards will back on-duty Wednesday, August 20. When beaches are unguarded, swim at your own risk.
Parking Garages
City parking garages remain in normal operations. If you stored your vehicle during normal operations, you will be charged at posted rates.
